The evidence from Australia on the local crime is just a sample of most of the continental issues related to alcoholism and other substance abuse[1]. Youngsters of the present millennium are highly influenced by social media and other contributing factors such as easy way of money making and peer influence[2]. Although the authors have done immense work in the catchment area of the study and presented the data, one should not look into it as an isolated issue, however it must be considered seriously as a global concern, as the menace of these issues are grabbing the young generation and spoiling the country like cancer.

Kerala, the southern state of India, had been boasting on high literacy rate and health indicators which were considered by World Health Organization (WHO) as yardstick for other parts of the developing countries [3]. Despite all the indicators and health status of the population, the concern on alcoholism and addiction on drugs, cannabis and MDMA, are rampant [4]. Many cases are being reported every day by news and media. The increasing number of youngsters who use the addictive substances are detrimentally affecting their behavior, which leads to aggressive behavior, suicidal and homicidal tendencies among them[5].
The government and health authorities should take active initiatives to control this social evil and help the youth to grow better, which crucial at this time to prevent disintegration of the country's development. Let's s...Conflict of Interest:
